The Afeaa Snek is a unique legless creature that lives in the sandy deserts of Northern Eataf. These large beings measure between 1 and 3 yards long from nose to tail tip, which makes them big enough to wrap completely around a Candyfloss. Although they possess wings, they cannot fly well at all. Instead, they fold their wings over their faces to block the blinding sun and harsh sandstorms, or they use them as rudders to steer through the terrain. They bury themselves in the top layer of the desert and swim effortlessly through the sand like fish. Sand-surfing Floss frequently witness large herds of these sneks leaping gracefully into the air, gliding briefly, and diving back into the sand at top speeds.

A glittering layer of metal covers the body of the Afeaa Snek, which constantly sheds into thick metallic scales. Depending on the specific breed, this metal can vary from gold, copper, silver, or even rare metals like adamantite. Harvesters use sifters to find these loose scales in the surface sand and sell them for high prices. However, the real wealth comes once a year when the Afeaa Snek sheds its entire outer skin at once to stay healthy. This complete layer of thin, flexible metal is highly coveted across Eataf for making luxury clothing and jewelry. The shedding process causes the Snek absolutely no pain, and the creature doesnt seem to mind if Candyfloss take the discarded metal.

To protect their developing babies, the parents lay specialized eggs that are heavily gilded in gold and silver. They leave these shiny eggs out in the open desert sun, which causes the metallic shells to become incredibly hot to the touch. If a dangerous predator or a greedy poacher tries to steal an egg, they receive an immediate, painful surprise as the blistering metal burns their hands. This clever defense mechanism keeps the nest safe from thieves while the parents are away.

When threatened, the Afeaa Snek defends itself by injecting a highly dangerous venom through its sharp fangs. A bite causes the victim to feel instantly drowsy and numb as a layer of tough metal slowly spreads across their body. Eventually, they will lose their mobility completely, becoming a motionless metallic statue at the mercy of the Snek. Travelers are known to find these tragic statues scattered across the Eataf desert, from Muflickah to Floga Drakai, to unfortunate Floss that had crossed paths with an angry Snek. Thankfully, a trained Eataffloss can safely remove the metal coating and the venom from the body if the victim receives medical treatment in time.

Its valuable metallic scales and gilded eggs bring great wealth to brave harvesters, while its unique sand-swimming abilities create a stunning spectacle across the dunes.
